I'm New
Wear what you're comfortable wearing. Some people come dressy and some wear casual.
Park in either the front or back lot, but we reserve spaces for our guests in the front lot near the light post.
Restrooms, Sunday School classes, and Nursery are to the right and down the hall.
The church is one floor and ADA-compliant, with accessible facilities and assisted listening devices available upon request.
Children up to age 3 are welcome to our nursery, if parents desire. The safety of children is of utmost importance; all of our childhood volunteers have updated background checks and child abuse clearances. All children are invited to stay for the service and Children's Message.
Sunday services last about an hour and include singing, Scripture Readings, the Apostles' or Nicene Creed, a sermon, prayers, and The Lord's Prayer. Visit the Good Shepherd YouTube page to view a service.
Our 9am Service is more contemporary with a praise team, while our 11am Service is more traditional with pipe organ and hymns. We invite you to join us between services for complimentary coffee, tea, and cookies.
Sunday School for children and adults is offered from 10am to 10:45am.
The Lord's Supper (communion) is the first and third Sunday of each month, at both services. Baptized individuals who: believe Jesus Christ is their Lord and Savior; believe that His presence is in the Sacrament (Christ's body and blood ARE received along with the bread and wine); and who are willing, with the help of the Holy Spirit, to seek forgiveness and amend their lives, in accordance with His will - are invited to join us in the Lord's Supper. Children are welcome to come forward to receive a blessing, or to receive communion, if they have already received Lutheran instruction and communion in their home church.
If you're new to the Christian faith or Lutheran Church, Pastor Brian is happy to speak with you. Call (717) 764-4746 or e-mail yorkshepherd@verizon.net.
OUR CHURCH COMMUNITY
Our Mission and Vision drive what we do.
In response to the Love and Gospel of Jesus Christ, Good Shepherd Lutheran Church is a growing family of Christians, brought together by the grace of God in celebration, witness and service. We are a family using God-given talents to reach out and share the Good News of the Gospel through the preaching and teaching of the faultless Word of God - our guide for daily living! We look to the future with hope and confidence and invite you to discover with us the changeless Christ in a changing world.
We are part of the Lutheran Church Missouri Synod. Click on the link to learn more about what we believe.
Our church was founded in 1922 and was previously located at the corner of South Hartley St. and Salem Ave. in York. We moved into our current location at 2121 Roosevelt Ave. on Sunday, June 2, 2002.

OUTREACH MINISTRY
Ministering to the people around us is very important to our church!
We have many different ways that we get involved consistently with our community
