OUR CHURCH COMMUNITY
Our Mission and Vision drive what we do.
In response to the Love and Gospel of Jesus Christ, Good Shepherd Lutheran Church is a growing family of Christians, brought together by the grace of God to provide an alternative in celebration, witness and service. We are a family using God-given talents to reach out and share the Good News of the Gospel through the preaching and teaching of the faultless Word of God - our guide for daily living! We look to the future with hope and confidence and invite you to discover with us the changeless Christ in a changing world.
Our church was founded in 1922 and was previously located at the corner of South Hartley St. and Salem Ave. in York. We moved into our current location at 2121 Roosevelt Ave. on Sunday, June 2, 2002.

A WORD FROM THE PASTOR
Greetings in the name of our Lord Jesus!
My name is Skip Nizinski and it is a real blessing and a privilege to be serving as the pastor here at Good Shepherd.
I was ordained in August, 2004 after my graduation from Concordia Seminary (St. Louis) in May. I grew up in the Pittsburgh area and went to college at IUP where I majored in computer science. I spent 19 years as a computer programmer at IBM locations in Poughkeepsie, NY, Boca Raton, FL, and Austin, TX prior to hearing God's call to attend seminary. I am excited about being here and look forward to seeing how God's plan unfolds here at Good Shepherd.
Something else I think is important for you to know about me is that I am not a life-long Lutheran, nor is my wife. We decided to join the LCMS in 1998 because of its Christ-centered, Bible-based values. We felt that this was important not only for ourselves, but also that our children be raised in a church that bases all that it does on the inerrant Word of God. This is what I preach and teach, as well as what our church preaches and teaches.
I have been blessed with a loving wife, Julie, loving children Allie, Daniel, and Michael, and a loving congregation.
If I can serve you in any way, please give me a call at 717-764-4746 or email me.
God's blessings to you!
For by grace you have been saved through faith. And this is not your own doing; it is the gift of God, not a result of works, so that no one may boast.
